  19. I recently bought the pal version of the fps60 capture card
  20. and i rekon that the results are pretty good.

  22. I can capture at two different frame sizes
  23.  
  24. 384 x 288 50 fields a second (full pal frame rate)
  25. or
  26. 720 x 576 50 fields a second
  27.  
  28. At the moment i do not haave a dedicated AV hard drive so im not getting 
  29. very good play back at full frame rate but the people who sold me the 
  30. card recomend an EIDE av drive insted of a SCSI drive which i have.
  31. Saying that EIDE will give better performance with this card.

  33. I am also running the the new 32bit capture cacheing software and
  34. 32bit capture software which seems to make a huge difference with this
  35. card.

  37. Ive done some test AVI's using the fast mjpeg compression straight from
  38. lightwave with some excellent results. 
  39. But im not saying this has not been trouble free, 'cause sometimes ive
  40. gotten some really bad coruption on play back but this could have been
  41. from the result of not having an AV optimised-dedicated hard drive.

  43. I would love to hear from anybody else who has used this card.

  45. Im only using this for test renders for clients on VHS i always
  46. create full frame targas for output through a Waccom drive to
  47. DigitalSP or SP Betacam for my final product.

  49. Hey its cheaper than the PVR ($8,500 australian dollars w/ capture)
  50. and you get to see your animations full frame and real time on a TV
  51. I think even the 384x288 is quite good.

  53. And i've worked in television on Paintbox & Hal for the last 8 years.
